• Ages: 0–5 years old
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 am–5:30 pm
• Price: Children are able to attend the high quality preschool program for as little as $10 per week.
St. Mary’s Early Childhood Center is a not-for-profit agency that offers two early childhood initiatives: The Preschool Program and The Professional Development Program. Its mission statement is based on the premise that the children it serves are inherently competent, capable, and strong. The program impacts preschool children in poverty who are at life and learning risk with cognitive, creative, social, physical, and emotional learning experiences and uses qualitative measures to show impact. One hundred percent of the children who qualify for free or reduced lunch receive substantial assistance, 93% of students are living in poverty, 85% leave at a 5-year-old developmental level, and the great majority of children enter kindergarten at a 5-year-old level in all domains of development. Through generous community support, scholarships are available for educators working with children living in poverty and/or dealing with adversity, and children are able to attend the preschool program for as little as $10 per week.
St. Mary’s Early Childhood Center also provides professional development opportunities for community educators focused on the Educational Philosophy from Reggio Emilia, Italy and Applied Educational Neuroscience research and practices for behavioral health. The leadership team includes Michelle Radomsky – Executive Director; Ashley Flaumenhaft – Director of Programs; Shannon Mason – Chief Development Officer; Diane Pike – Director of Outreach & Prof Dev; and Maria Janik – Director of Operations.
