St. Mary’s Early Childhood Center is a not-for-profit agency that offers two early childhood initiatives: the Preschool Program and the Professional Development Program. The Preschool Program has a strong history of serving children who live in poverty and impacts preschool children in poverty who are at life and learning risk with cognitive, creative, social, physical, and emotional learning experiences. St. Mary’s Early Childhood Center Preschool provides early childhood experiences intended to ensure success in school and build the foundation for life-long success. The mission statement is based on the premise that the children served are inherently competent, capable, and strong. Through generous community support, children are able to attend the high quality preschool program for as little as $10 per week, and scholarships are available for educators working with children living in poverty and/or dealing with adversity. Ninety-three percent of students are living in poverty, and 85% leave at a 5-year-old developmental level. The Professional Development Program focuses on the Educational Philosophy from Reggio Emilia, Italy and Applied Educational Neuroscience research and practices for behavioral health. All schools operated by schools and parishes under the guidance of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Indianapolis admit students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin and do not discriminate on that basis in administration of educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs. The leadership team includes Michelle Radomsky (Executive Director), Ashley Flaumenhaft (Director of Programs), Shannon Mason (Chief Development Officer), Diane Pike (Director of Outreach & Prof Dev), and Maria Janik (Director of Operations).
