About

The Outdoor Summer Program gives children hands-on time with gardening, composting, bird identification, and plant identification. Participants spend time walking around a working farm environment, seeing farm animals, and playing outdoor games. Education efforts focus on these specific activities in the natural environment of the farm.

• Ages: 4–12 years old
• Schedule: CSA and Summer Camp registration begin Friday January 16th; Winter Market hours are Wednesdays and Fridays from 1–6pm

The Outdoor Summer Program offers both regular and extended day options. The program is part of Allandale Farm, which is led by Farm Manager Mike. The farm grows all its own produce using sustainable and traditional organic farming practices, including cover cropping, crop rotation, natural barriers, beneficial plants and insects, and disease-resistant plant varieties, and does not use herbicides or conventional pesticides in the fields or greenhouses.

Allandale Farm states that it is proud to connect Boston to its agricultural roots by sustainably growing plants and produce from seed to store and by serving the community with events that entertain and educate and by inspiring youth to be the next generation of stewards. The farm has been awarded Best of Boston Home and Best of Boston’s 2023 Best Garden Center.
