Chair City Baseball and Softball states that its main purpose is to host a developmental and competitive youth baseball and softball program for all children ages 4–16. The program is open to players in grades 1–8 who are residents of Gardner, students in a Gardner school, or who were on a Chair City Baseball and Softball team last year. Chair City Baseball and Softball is parent powered and managed completely by dedicated volunteers, and the league president is Matt Perenzin. Chair City Baseball and Softball (CCBS) is a 501(c)(3) certified youth sports organization.

In partnership with The City of Gardner Recreation and the GHS Baseball and Softball Varsity teams, Chair City Baseball and Softball offers these clinics. Chair City Baseball and Softball has partnered with Squad Locker to offer league merchandise to families and fans to purchase, and 5% of the proceeds from Squad Locker merchandise will come back to Chair City Baseball and Softball. Families can also become a Team Sponsor, Field Sponsor, or Double Play (both) Sponsor. For equipment, the program directs parents to its website’s “For Parents” page, which links to the Babe Ruth site for legal bat information and provides links on how to choose the correct size and style of bat and glove.
