Boys & Girls Club of Pawtucket Summer Programs (Camp Ramsbottom & Teen Summer Program) include weekly pool time, sports, games, music, dance, art, podcasting, use of a fitness center, computers, gardening, field trips, and workforce development opportunities. Camp Ramsbottom offers Sneak Peek Saturdays from May 3 – June 14 (no Sneak Peek Saturday on May 24) with tours at 10 am, 11 am, 12 pm, and 1 pm, and transportation is covered with Camp Ramsbottom registration at specified bus stops. Limited scholarship funds are available for both Camp Ramsbottom and the Teen Summer Program, and the organization awards more than $100,000 in scholarships every year.
Campers at Camp Ramsbottom must have an active Boys & Girls Club of Pawtucket membership current through the end of the last session for which they register, along with a most recent wellness visit from a licensed physician within the past 18 months and current immunizations, and a $75 deposit fee is required for each session. Documentation needed to apply for a Camp Ramsbottom scholarship includes a 2024 tax return and proof of residence in the applicant’s name, and Teen Summer Program scholarship applications require proof of income and residence, with participants also needing a current Club membership. Only those listed as an authorized pick up may pick up a child from Camp Ramsbottom, and the waivers section requires uploading a copy of the child’s physical examination from the preceding 18 months signed by a licensed healthcare provider and an Authorization to Administer Medication form.
The Boys & Girls Club of Pawtucket states that it strives for members to care about others, positively influence their communities, support and influence the Club and community, sustain meaningful relationships, develop a positive self-image, participate in the democratic process, respect cultural identities, graduate on time with a plan for the future, engage in healthy behaviors, and confidently express themselves through visual and performing arts. The organization reports that it offers homework help, tutoring in math and reading, science programs and activities, lessons in technology labs, college preparation, career exploration courses, programs focused on healthy habits and self-care, and a wide variety of recreational sports programs.
