The YMCA running Summer Camp is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit social services organization dedicated to Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility for all. WSYMCA camps state that they inspire self-confidence and create a sense of belonging through caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. The organization has received a $90,000 grant from the Cummings Foundation, and it reports serving 1 in 4 local youth with financial assistance provided annually through the Y's Annual Fund. One parent notes that the Y quickly created a program for working parents of Newton during the recent NTA strike, and another describes multiple pools, rooms for yoga and fitness classes, a basketball gym, a full workout room with machines and free weights, new professional level weight machines, 6 pickleball courts lined over basketball courts, and a beautiful lap pool.
