Founded on August 8, 2011, Davy Dance Academy describes its history as 15 Years of Excellence and operates as a family-run business. The studio offers a curriculum-based dance education program with both a competitive track and non-competitive dance curriculum-based programs, along with annual recitals. Davy Dance Academy’s Curriculum-Based and Competitive Dance Program offers measurable results for dancers to track their progress throughout the year, and the program states that “Our dance family will be your dance family.”

The founder, T. Michelle Davy, has worked in dance education for over 20 years, previously managed two different dance studios, and worked as a Performing Arts Teacher at The Harbour School School. Faculty members and instructors are certified in the Cecchetti Method of Ballet, Acrobatic Arts, and Progressive Ballet Technique. The program describes itself as an inclusive learning environment for dancers of all abilities and experience and offers a variety of classes each week.

Competitive dance teams at Davy Dance Academy include additional performances at community events. Parent and student feedback includes comments that Davy Dance Academy has “a great environment for dancers to grow and thrive” and “a wide variety of classes for all age groups,” and that it is “a family friendly studio with the best preschool classes” and “great acro classes.” Founder T. Michelle Davy states that her dream was to have a studio where she knows all the dancers’ names, where teachers have positive relationships with dancers, and where professional development is a regular part of the organization.
