Maryland Science Center Youth Programs include activities such as MAKE: Squiggle Bots, Kid's Room: Kids Room Science, and MSC Winter Games. The programs also feature planetarium shows like One World One Sky: Big Bird’s Adventure, Winter Star Watch Live, and One Sky Project, along with IMAX films such as The Blue Angels 3D and Maryland By Air. Youth programs take place within three floors of interactive exhibits and programs that are designed to be pushed, pulled, stacked, and splashed, bringing everyday science to life.

For nearly 50 years, the Maryland Science Center has been a community resource reaching every corner of Maryland and beyond. The Maryland Science Center Youth Programs operate within a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The Maryland Science Center Board of Trustees, led by Chair Mark Zimmerly, provides guidance and vision for the future of informal science education. The Maryland Science Center is described as a nondiscriminatory and accessible institution. The organization states that its mission is not confined to four walls and that through its programs it reaches audiences in every part of Maryland and beyond, because every child deserves access to education, science, personal insight, innovation, and invention.
