Bowie Boys and Girls Club (BBGC) offers a wide range of athletic activities, including baseball, basketball, baton and poms, cheerleading, track and field, soccer, lacrosse, football, volleyball, wrestling, cricket, and strength and conditioning. The program also includes BBGC Blazers Baton/Poms, which teaches baton twirling and pom routines, as well as Youth Skills Development Training, Adult Competitive Basketball Training, and an Adult League Night. The Bowie Boys and Girls Club is a non-profit organization run entirely by volunteers and has been serving the youth of the community through sports, mentorship, teamwork, and character development for more than 60 years. The Club was established in 1963 and has been dedicated to providing high-quality recreational sports programs for the youth of the community since 1995. Its stated purpose is to provide properly supervised athletic programs, develop principles of good sportsmanship, acquaint youth with the value of law observance, provide instruction in the fundamentals of sports and athletic activities, foster interest among citizens in their responsibility to youth, and prepare youth to be better citizens in the future. BBGC remains committed to building young people through character, integrity, teamwork, sportsmanship, and community responsibility, and it is powered by people who care deeply about youth, families, and the Bowie community. BBGC encourages families to register their school-aged children for a season that includes activity, fun, athletic development, and community involvement.
