Glen Echo Park Aquarium is a Chesapeake Bay Discovery Center focused on the Chesapeake Bay and its large watershed, including creatures such as fish, crabs, and oysters. It was founded by Under the Sea, a marine biology outreach company based in Sterling, VA. The aquarium opened on 9/19/15, and the building dates back to approximately 1921. The mission of Glen Echo Park Aquarium is to encourage stewardship and conservation through educating people about the bay and its large watershed.

The leadership team includes Andrew Wilson as Director, Ariel Plotnick as Senior Education Specialist, and Annie Wilder as Education Specialist and assistant camp director. Andrew has been a marine biologist since 1992 and was born in Key West, Florida. Ariel is a University of Delaware graduate who gives daily tours, runs summer camps, helps maintain tanks, leads field trips, and has a passion for SCUBA. Annie is a recent graduate of the University of Maryland’s elementary education program and serves as assistant camp director.
