Glen Echo Park Classes & Camps takes place within a larger arts community that includes 13 resident artists and organizations, numerous art studios and galleries, and two award-winning children's theaters. The Park includes a restored 1921 Dentzel carousel and a nature and aquatic life program for kids. All programs are produced in cooperation with the National Park Service and Montgomery County, Maryland, and the Park is managed by the Glen Echo Park Partnership for Arts and Culture.

One member, student, and volunteer states that “Glen Echo Park fosters creativity and a love of the arts as well as a sense of community,” and notes that learning and shared experiences at the Park have strengthened their understanding of themselves and of the arts “as a basic necessity.” Social dancers Bob and Francine L. describe dancing at Glen Echo Park, mentioning the Spanish Ballroom, the wide variety of dance offerings such as Waltz Time, the bands that play at the dances, and the lessons offered before each dance.
