City of Hagerstown Parks & Recreation Programs offers activities such as playing a round of golf at Hagerstown Greens and participating in special events held at the parks. The program also includes opportunities to ride on the City's expanding network of bicycle routes.
• Schedule: Parks & Recreation main office hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
• Price: Program registration fees are non-refundable.
The program uses a variety of facilities, including 22 parks and an indoor Fit Room at Fairgrounds Park. Many facilities are available for rental by the general public. Parks can be visited year-round but are officially closed from November through March, with no staff on-site in the evenings or on weekends and restrooms not open. Lost and found items are held for 30 days before being discarded.
The Parks & Recreation Division states that its mission is to contribute to the health and well-being of the Hagerstown community by providing high-quality recreational and leisure opportunities in safe, modern, and well-maintained parks and facilities. The leadership team includes Parks and Recreation Manager Mark Haddock, Administrative Specialist Leann Raley, Recreation Coordinator Amy Riley, Recreation Assistant Kay Osmer, and Recreation Assistant Sean Cameron. Hagerstown City Park won First Place for the 2019 Tri-State's Best of the Best Park, and Parks and Engineering received the Landscaping Award for the Hagerstown Cultural Trail in February 2020.
