Boys & Girls Clubs of Harford & Cecil Counties Programs include an After School Program, Licensed Child Care, a Summer Enrichment Program, and a mobile Club on the Go initiative. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Harford County began in 1990 in Aberdeen and expanded over 25 years to four Clubs in Harford County. In 1999, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Cecil County was chartered, and in 2018 the Harford and Cecil organizations merged to become the largest Boys & Girls Clubs in Maryland. Over 30 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of Harford & Cecil Counties have developed a reputation for helping kids who need them most and now serve more than 7,500 youth annually.
The programs are neighborhood-centered and include specialized programming in character development, educational enhancement, and career exploration. A mobile initiative provides both youth development programming and food access to under-resourced communities. Catch-A-Pig is described as a unique race experience for the whole family that supports Boys & Girls Clubs of Harford & Cecil Counties. The organization notes that it is known for serving more kids, more often, and that it offers licensed care in several school locations in Harford, Cecil, and Kent Counties, as well as a dedicated facility for after-school activities.
