About
Terrapin STEM & Sports Camp offers hands-on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) programs along with swimming, sports conditioning, nature walks, and reading. The camp provides a well-rounded summer experience for students in grades K–5, with an education focus on hands-on STEM activities. Campers swim at the Laurel Municipal Swimming Pool, which is within walking distance, and also take part in sports conditioning that is planned so that kids sleep at night.

Terrapin STEM & Sports Camp is owned and operated by AMI HOLDEN. The camp is led by a Media Specialist and Technology teacher with Howard County Public Schools who has over fifteen years of experience developing and teaching elementary STEM programs. This leader holds a master's degree in Instruction, Curriculum Design, and Assessment and a master's degree in School Library Media. The stated mission is to make STEM education accessible to all students, specifically those underrepresented in STEM fields. The camp also takes part in community events.
