About

Camp Levine is a three-week summer day camp where campers sing, dance, play instruments, explore visual art, and take part in musical theatre. The program includes creating visual art, a variety of games and activities, morning sings, and final performances. Camp Levine is grounded in the philosophy of nurturing the “total musical child,” with children developing skills for creative expression through multiple art forms.

• Schedule: Three-week day camp; 3-week summer day camp

Camp Levine describes its environment as safe, joy-filled, and collaborative, with a focus on a three-week day camp experience filled with music, movement, art, and fun. The camp is open to children of all musical backgrounds and skill levels and offers what it describes as top-notch arts instruction. According to the program, campers learn new skills, gain confidence, and create lasting friendships.

Camp Levine has been recognized in the Washington City Paper’s annual “Best of D.C.” issue as one of the “Best Summer Camps in D.C.” for the last seven years, winning the title of #1 Summer Camp every year from 2021 through 2025.

Parents have shared that “the scholarship has allowed us to continue to keep our child as happy as she can possibly be. I consider Levine part of our extended family” (Karla Yelverton). Another parent said, “You go to Levine because you love music, and you come back because you love music — not to be in a school or a conservatory, but just because you love it. They embrace all ages. Levine is the only music school in the area where I’ve really seen that” (Antoinette (Toni) Ford). One parent noted, “The quality keeps us at Levine. My kids are truly learning so much about technique and theory” (Alison Santighian).
