Dynamite Gymnastics (Classes & Camps) is part of a family of four gyms that share the same vision, including the Agility Center, Bolt Parkour, and Spark Gymnastics Center. Dynamite opened after a lease was signed on August 13, 2009, with equipment arriving on September 17 and an open house on September 20, 2009. The Agility Center opened in 2013, Spark opened in 2015, and Bolt Parkour opened in 2018. The gyms are family owned and operated, with over 100 teachers, including 11 family members, spread across the four gyms and the Motion Education program.
The facility includes a large designated preschool area with age-appropriate apparatus, competition-level equipment for gymnastics and T&T, a 40-foot tumble track, a large in-ground foam block pit, and extra bars and beam. The Agility Center offers obstacle courses, in-ground trampolines, a pit, and classes that mix ninja warrior activities, tumbling, and trampolining to work on air awareness, motor planning, and athleticism. Bolt Parkour is a parkour facility, and Spark Gymnastics Center is a gymnastics gym. Summer camp days include rotations in the gym, free play, games, and arts and crafts, and summer camp requires additional health forms. Birthday parties include exclusive use of the gym for the first hour, followed by 20 minutes in the party room and 10 minutes for cleanup and goodbyes, and no experience is necessary for birthday parties. Motion Education is a specialized one-on-one program for kids with special needs.
The leadership team includes Gail (Grammy), who coaches the TNT Team; Wendy, who coaches the Artistic Gymnastics Teams and is the gym manager; Corey, who coaches the Artistic Gymnastics Teams; Alyx, who coaches the TNT Team; Ryan, who coaches the TNT Team and teaches classes; Chris, who coaches the TNT Team and teaches classes; and Peyton, who coaches the TNT Team and manages birthday parties. Ky teaches classes and manages the Motion Education program. Garrett mainly does admin work, Michelle mainly does admin work and teaches a few classes, and Grammy’s husband, Grampy, is the facilities manager.
The program’s mission states that Dynamite is not just a gym but a community, aiming to create an environment where every person who enters, regardless of age or ability, can use the space, knowledge, and support to develop a love and mastery of movement. The mission also states that they want students to know they have a place where they can belong and that their hope is that their gyms are a place where everyone, regardless of age, ability, or goals, can feel successful and supported. One adult participant, Natangel Robinson, shares that after doing gymnastics for less than two years, they found a place at Dynamite Gymnastics Center, citing many adult class options, caring staff, and the facility, and notes feeling proud to be a member of the gym.
