The program is part of a larger campus with 8+ miles of trails and is offered by the largest independent non-profit nature center in the region.

• Price: Admission is $5/person for ages 6 and up; children 5 and under are free, and members are always free.
Irvine Nature Center was founded in 1975 in an old barn at St. Timothy’s School in Stevenson, Maryland. It now provides more than 800 environmental education program sessions to over 51,000 children and adults each year and brings award-winning programs to over 4,400 public and private school students. Irvine has emerged as a leader among Maryland’s environmental education centers and was voted by Baltimore as the best place to play, discover, move, celebrate, learn, and explore nature. The organization’s mission is to expose children and adults to the importance of environmental literacy, environmental stewardship, and actions that help preserve the natural world and create a healthier planet. Irvine also offers FREE Fridays thanks to a donation from The Orokawa Foundation and brings programs to community and senior centers across Maryland. A visitor shared, “Thank you for working so hard to keep Irvine open during the pandemic. It’s a really wonderful place and our community is lucky to have it.” Pets, including dogs, are not allowed on the property at any time, and bikes are not allowed.
