About
Bender JCC Youth & Family Programs offers activities that include Private & Semi-Private Swim Lessons, After School Enrichment, Shabbat Shalom Playgroup, Fun, Fit & Free, and Friday Fun and Games. Shabbat Shalom Playgroup meets from 10:30–11:00 am starting November 21 and runs every Friday from 11/21/25 to 1/30/26. Fun, Fit & Free meets from 1:00–2:00 pm starting September 12 on the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month, and Friday Fun and Games runs from 2:30–5:00 pm every Friday from 11/21/25 to 1/30/26.

The Bender JCC’s mission is to inspire connections between individuals, families, and neighbors to cultivate an inclusive and welcoming community based on Jewish life and values. The organization was first founded in 1913, incorporated in 1923, opened its first JCC building on 16th Street in 1923, moved to Rockville in 1969, celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2013, and officially changed its name to the Bender JCC of Greater Washington in 2015. The Bender JCC partners with individuals and organizations across the region and is part of the Charles E. Smith Life Communities, is an active member of the JCC Association of North America, and is one of the largest local beneficiary agencies of The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington. The JCC Association of North America has honored the Bender JCC through numerous awards and recognitions, including for Lessans Camp JCC’s inclusive programming for people with disabilities.
