About
VisArts Camps and Youth Art Programs offers summer camps for kids, summer intensives for tweens and teens, and days off from school camps in the fall, winter, and spring. The program also includes art classes for all ages and skill levels in areas such as ceramics, fiber, glass, mixed media, painting, and drawing, along with private art parties for adults and children, workshops and school programs, community-taught workshops, and classes designed for accessibility.
• Ages: 0–18 years old
• Schedule: Administrative office hours are Monday–Saturday from 9 AM to 7:30 PM and Sunday from 10 AM to 5 PM; gallery hours are Wednesday–Thursday from 12 PM to 4 PM, Friday from 12 PM to 8 PM, and Saturday–Sunday from 12 PM to 4 PM.
VisArts Camps and Youth Art Programs is part of an organization that has been a hub for artistic exploration and social impact since 1987. Its mission statement is: “We know art is transformative, we believe art is essential, and we’re committed to ensuring that artistic experiences are accessible to all.” The organization includes the Center for Craft Studies and the VisAbility Art Lab, which is a supported studio program for neurodiverse artists, and it presents contemporary art exhibitions with opening celebrations, AfterHours events, artist talks, and other free exhibition programs. The program also brings creative experiences to 25 community members who cannot come to the site.
