Wicomico Day School Summer Camp includes fun and engaging activities, outdoor water activities, and local field-trips. Campers also take part in STEAM activities that promote creative problem solving and collaboration. August at Wicomico Day School is a STEAM-focused camp with a mixed age group from kindergarten 5 through 5th grade, and spaces for STEAM Camp are limited with early registration recommended.
• Ages: 5–11 years old
• Schedule: Transition Week and weekly sessions from late May through late August 2026, with Camp Odyssey operating at Wicomico Day School from July 6–August 7, 2026
• Price: Full Time - $250/wk; $50 registration fee for non-WDS students; different rates may apply for Camp Odyssey at Wicomico Day School
If a child is a new camper to Wicomico Day School camp, all required enrollment paperwork must be turned in at least two weeks before joining the camp. All campers must register through Camp Odyssey for the Camp Odyssey at Wicomico Day School camp. Registration for current Wicomico Day School families begins in March, open camp registration begins April 1, 2026, and registration for STEAM camp closes on July 20, 2026. Part Time Camp Options are not being offered at this time.
Wicomico Day School is a private, independent school that offers a solid, specific, and shared curriculum, small class sizes, extended school hours, a rigorous academic curriculum, affordable tuition, and a WDS Uniform Webstore for spirit wear and PE uniforms. Since 1990, Wicomico Day School has provided students with quality education using this curriculum and has built a close-knit community over 34 years. The school’s mission states that at every level, students are challenged to pursue academic excellence, develop personal integrity, and have respect for others. Wicomico Day School is also a Green School.
The leadership team includes Head of School Julie Fairbank, Administrative Head of School Jeannie Schweikert, Preschool Director Crystal Regel, Operations Manager Cindy Jones, and Administrative Assistant Nikki Brown. For the Art Teacher position connected with the program, an art degree is preferred but not required, and preference is given to candidates with art education experience and/or a degree in a related field.
The school’s community involvement includes participation by the recruiting team as a vendor at the JA Inspire event at the Civic Center. Testimonials from families and students describe small class sizes, a family-like environment, attentive teachers, flexible before and after school care, and enthusiasm for activities and classes such as computer, gym, music, art, and Spanish. Parents report being impressed with communication from teachers and staff, the structure and schedule, and their children’s interest in learning and school activities.
