Founded in 1998, Ann Arbor Saline Music Center has been teaching lessons and band classes since 1998. Its mission states that it provides an enriched learning environment for students of all ages, from beginner to advanced, to get the most out of their music education. The program describes itself as a music community where education matters, with a unique approach to teaching and top quality faculty, and as more than just a physical music school. The A2SMC reflects the diverse backgrounds and cultures of Washtenaw County. Rock Band School is described as their version of a team sport, with guitars, basses, keyboards, and drums, and is positioned as the next step once students have a firm grasp on the basics of guitar, bass, drums, violin, or keyboards.
