Alexandria Junior Golf Programs include golf instruction, competition on the golf course, and work on course strategy, goal setting, specialty shots, and rules and etiquette. The program offers a Junior Golf Academy and a Junior Elite League geared toward competitive junior golfers, as well as LPGA-USGA Girls Golf of Alexandria for girls at different experience levels. LPGA-USGA Girls Golf of Alexandria is open to all girls and welcomes beginner to advanced players.
• Ages: 6–17 years old
• Schedule: Registration for the 2026 Junior Golf Academy opens April 1, 2026 for AGC Members and April 15, 2026 for Non-AGC Members; class days will remain the same with times to be determined; the 2026 Junior Elite League schedule and cost and the 2026 Schedule of Events are to be determined
• Price: $120 Program Fee payable to Lisa Grimes
One part of the program is geared toward competitive junior golfers, boys and girls ages 10–15, who must be able to shoot 50 or better for 9 holes, and these golfers receive 30 minutes of instruction before competition on the course. LPGA-USGA Girls Golf of Alexandria is open to all girls ages 6–17, where girls learn to play golf, experience competition, and are prepared for a lifetime of enjoyment with the game. Families interested in signing up a junior can call or email Lisa at (320) 815-9098 or use the email provided, and can also enroll and register as a national member at girlsgolf.org.
The mission of the Alexandria Junior Golf Foundation is to strengthen the lives of youth and their families from all walks of life by providing wholesome activities and educational programs through the game of golf. The organization states that it is deeply connected with youth, their parents, and the community, and that it is committed to helping them strengthen relationships and doing what it takes to help them thrive as individuals. Alexandria Golf Club, which is associated with these junior programs, is considered one of the top golf clubs in Minnesota and is home to The Resorters, described as one of the oldest and esteemed amateur golf tournaments in the nation.
