Youth Camps and Events at Anoka Technical College include activities such as the Engineering Machine Design Contest, Nitro-X Summer Camp, and Scrubs Camp. The Engineering Machine Design Contest involves student teams designing and building a complex machine using everyday objects with the guidance of a coach, and teams showcase their machine at a regional contest with the opportunity to advance to the Engineering Machine Design Championship. Scrubs Camp includes a variety of hands-on workshop sessions and provides a pair of scrubs, a name badge, a swag bag, breakfast, lunch, a light snack, and transportation to a field trip on the last day of camp.

Anoka Technical College is a member of Minnesota State and is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission, and it has been named a Top 200 U.S. Community College eligible for the 2027 Aspen Prize. Youth camps and events are coordinated by Rebecca Walker, Connections Coordinator. Nitro-X Summer Camp is presented annually by the Minnesota State Transportation Center of Excellence in partnership with the colleges of Minnesota State, Minnesota high schools, and industry partners, and Scrubs Camp is held each summer in partnership with HealthForce Minnesota. High school students can earn college credit while in high school through several programs connected to Anoka Technical College, and event details and links to registration for youth camps and events are updated as they become available.

One student, Lisa McCoy, Robotic and Electronic Engineering degree ’23, stated, “I had all the resources I needed to get in here, graduate on time and get a job in the field.” Another student, Erick Lopez, Surgical Technology degree ’23, said, “The professors here are really understanding. I feel like I can always reach out to someone and they're willing to help.” A third student, Noah Pobuda, Automotive Technician diploma ’24, shared, “I was drawn to Anoka Tech because the tuition was affordable and the program was very attractive to someone my age, right out of high school.”
