About
Rumriver Art Center Kids Summer Art Camps offer hands-on art projects where campers work with painting, drawing, mixed-media, and sculpture. Campers work on a variety of projects, and each camp has a new focus so students who enroll in multiple sessions encounter all new studio projects.
• Ages: 3–17 years old
• Schedule: Morning and afternoon camp options Monday through Friday, with drop off beginning 10 minutes before camp and pick up at the camp end time
• Price: Morning Session Monday through Friday 9:00am to 12:00pm – $150 plus a material fee; Afternoon Session Monday through Thursday 1:00pm to 4:00pm – $135 plus a material fee; camp material fees range from $20 to $60 depending on art medium; an additional booking fee is added at checkout by GetOccasion; additional snacks and drinks are $1 each
Kids Summer Art Camps are geared for ages 5–17, with a PreK Craft Camp for younger artists ages 3–5. Included in camp registration is one snack or drink per day, and there is a snack break approximately halfway through class each day. If a student is registered for both morning and afternoon camps, they can bring a lunch to eat at the art center during the supervised hour break between camps. Camp check in and check out take place from vehicles in a drive-through fashion near the main entrance, and parents are asked not to park and walk children in for drop off or pick up. Campers are asked to wear clothes and shoes they can get dirty and to leave watches and rings at home. Students in wheel throwing pottery camps must bring a towel from home, and students in Rumriver Ruffians Camp, Nature Art Camp, or Plein Air Camp are asked to bring a bag or backpack, wear proper footwear for walking, put on sunblock before camp, and have a hat or sunglasses. Students may bring cash to purchase additional snacks or drinks or bring their own.
Rumriver Art Center Summer Art Camps state that they provide a stimulating environment for young artists to grow as creative, unique individuals and to learn how to solve problems visually. Scholarships are available for camps, and Rumriver Art Center’s main method of communication is email. Rumriver Art Center is a Non-Profit 501(c)(3) organization. This activity is funded, in part, by an appropriation from the Minnesota State Legislature with money from the State’s general fund, and is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund. Rumriver Art Center has received grant funding from the Central Minnesota Arts Board to support Parent & Child Art Classes serving families in Sherburne and Wright Counties. Rumriver Art Center is partnering with the cities of Anoka and Ramsey to offer Summer Art Camps for adults at local parks.
