2nd Chance Youth Ranch was established in 2010, and it has partnered with Hillside HOPE Thru Hooves, a ministry founded in 2005, to provide a faith-based sanctuary for individuals, families, and groups. The mission of 2nd Chance Youth Ranch is to provide opportunities for youth, families, and surrounding communities to learn, grow, and heal in the company of horses and the power of God's perfect love, with Equine Assisted Mentorship sessions focused on offering a place to experience the healing and restorative love of Jesus Christ. The leadership team includes Founder and Equine Assisted Mentorship Director Robin Fitzgerald, Equine Assisted Mentorship Director Angel Bateman, and Todd Bateman, who co-founded the Hillside HOPE Thru Hooves ministry with Angel Bateman, and the organization lists a 2nd Chance Youth Ranch Leadership Team. Programs at the ranch include VBS, horse camps, mentorship sessions, and summer camps centered around horses and sharing the Gospel, and VBS is not running in summer 2025 but is planned to be back in summer 2026. High-quality adult mentors receive three months of hands-on training regarding the ranch and the animals, and internship positions are available for individuals who want experience sharing the Gospel with youth and their families, planning and implementing summer camps, providing mentorship sessions with youth, and working with horses. New mentorship programs are on the agenda to be offered, donations to the organization are tax deductible, and the ranch is listed as a proud similar ministry of Crystal Peaks Youth Ranch.
