About

Camp Hand in Hand offers activities including swimming, boating, tubing, horseback riding, fishing, crafts, archery, nature exploration, biking, music groups, a small ropes course, paddleboats, and canoes. The program also includes themed activities in the evenings, snacks, and time to relax.

• Ages: 13–18 years old
• Schedule: Five-day camp sessions with multiple date and age group options, including Session 1: June 30–July 4 (ages 18–25), Session 2: July 6–10 (ages 16–17), Session 3: August 9–13 (ages 13–15), and Session 4: August 15–19 (ages 26+).
• Price: The cost of one camp session (five days) will be $1,999 in 2026.

AuSM-trained camp counselors and experienced program staff plan and maintain the camp experience, and music groups are led by a board-certified music therapist. Camp Hand in Hand is a program of the Autism Society of Minnesota (AuSM), which was founded in 1971 and is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The mission of AuSM is to create connections, empowering everyone in the autism community with the resources needed to live fully, with a commitment to advocacy, education, support, collaboration, and community building. AuSM partners with organizations such as V3 Sports Center and works with AuSM Premier Partners that invest in supports, education, and connection for Minnesota’s autism community. Camp Hand in Hand Director Sarah Hauer is the Senior Director of Camp Hand in Hand and is entering her 20th camping season with the Autism Society of Minnesota, with experience as a camp counselor, program staff, and director, and she also works in education as a Special Education Teacher, Case Manager, and elementary school teacher in the Centennial school district.
