Camp Hand in Hand includes activities such as swimming, boating, tubing, horseback riding, fishing, crafts, archery, nature exploration, biking, and a small ropes course. Campers also have access to paddleboats and canoes, take part in themed activities, and have snacks and time to relax. Music groups at Camp Hand in Hand are led by a board-certified music therapist.

Camp Hand in Hand is a program of the Autism Society of Minnesota (AuSM), which was founded in 1971 and is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. AuSM-trained camp counselors and experienced program staff plan and maintain the camp experience, and music groups are led by a board-certified music therapist. The mission of the Autism Society of Minnesota is to create connections, empowering everyone in the autism community with the resources needed to live fully.
Camp Hand in Hand Director Sarah Hauer is the Senior Director of Camp Hand in Hand and is entering her 20th camping season with the Autism Society of Minnesota. She began at Camp Hand in Hand as a camp counselor, later worked as program staff, and has served as director for the last four years. She is in her 13th year working in education, her 10th year as a Special Education Teacher and Case Manager, and her fifth year as an elementary school teacher in the Centennial school district.
AuSM’s community involvement includes partnerships such as AuSM and V3 Sports Center Partner for Swimposium, and AuSM Premier Partners are organizations that make an annual commitment to support autistic individuals, families, and professionals across Minnesota.
