About
Cuyuna Family Camp offers activities such as hiking, fishing, building a campfire, roasting a hot dog, geocaching, biking, and nature walking. Campers have access to water equipment, including row boats and canoes on Lake Pickerel, and are encouraged to bring their own boats with 15 hp motors or smaller. The camp is strictly for families of Scouts.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
Cuyuna Family Camp states that it offers a chance for seclusion at a facility that is not over developed. It is strictly for families of Scouts, and all campers are expected to observe the Scout Oath and Law in their camping practices. It is an opportunity for families of Scouting America’s registered Scouts to experience what summer camp is like at Cuyuna.
Rangers and host families are on duty to assist campers. The camp has fully furnished cabins, and RVs or campers are welcome at campsites with electricity. There is a shower house facility with flush toilets and modern amenities, and a trading post with camping needs such as ice, bug spray, camping gear, and food that is open only during the Scout camping season and located at Scout Camp. Miles of trails are available for hiking, biking, and nature walking, and geocaching uses a GPS unit to hunt for treasure.
At least one person per reservation must be registered with Scouting America to reserve cabins or sites. Registration includes paying a registration fee, passing a background check, and taking Safeguarding Youth Training, all of which can be done online. The registration process must be completed at least two weeks prior to the reservation.
