About

Stumble Upon Art Youth Program teaches participants how to use biodegradable materials to create art. The art created in this program is placed on public biking and walking trails for people to “stumble upon” in nature.

• Schedule: Date Summer 2024

Founded in 2022 by passionate visionaries in Detroit Lakes, Project 412 leads this program with a mission to elevate the artistic, cultural, and economic vibrancy of the lakes area. The Stumble Upon Art Project 412 received a grant from the Lake Region Arts Council to partner with HIKEhoppers to offer “Stumble Upon Art” experiences as part of a summer youth program through Detroit Lakes Public Schools and the Historic Holmes Theatre. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from Lake Region Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage fund. Special recognition is given to Lakes Region Arts Council, Clean Water Land & Legacy Amendment, HIKEhoppers, Detroit Lakes Schools, and Historic Holmes Theatre as supporters.
