Tech Academy MN offers hands-on technology camps and classes where kids take part in coding camps, robotics camps, Minecraft building and Minecraft modding, game design, 3D printing, film production, and coding. Specific activities include LEGO Robotics and LEGO Mindstorms, VEX and other programmable bots, Minecraft Builders, Video Game Design, 3D Printing & Digital Art, 3D Printing & Design with TinkerCAD and 3D modeling, Early STEM, Engineering, Digital Film Making, and Film & Animation with storyboarding, filming, audio, and editing. The program also offers after-school technology classes and programming in Java, Python, and Web Design.
• Ages: 4–15 years old
Over 20 years of hands-on STEM learning across Minnesota and Wisconsin are reflected in Tech Academy Minnesota’s history, including its earlier name, Computer Explorers of Minnesota. The program offers 30 different courses across 5 subject areas, with more than 300 camps each summer and early STEM programs for ages 4–7. Classes are staffed with one to four instructors, and every instructor brings real tech expertise.
Tech Academy MN partners with school districts, community education programs, parks and recreation departments, and community centers, working with 100+ partners and more than 90 cities across Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Registration is handled through these local partner organizations, and where possible, the program sends files or instructions so students can continue exploring their projects at home. Tech Academy MN states its mission as: “We build confidence through creativity — coding, robotics, design, and more.” One camper described the experience as the “Best part of my summer!” in a 2025 Minecraft Builders camp at age 9.
