About

Ashland Productions Summer Camps offer summer camps focused on performing arts where campers spend their days singing, dancing, playing games, rehearsing a show, and taking part in performances or a showcase. Camp days include time for meditation and end with an awards ceremony recognizing the work of every camper. Campers bring their own snacks and lunch and are asked to avoid nut products.

• Ages: 7–14 years old
• Schedule: One-week elementary camps and two-week middle school production camps, generally running 9am–4pm on listed dates

Ashland Productions Summer Camps include several elementary one-week camps for grades 2–5 in Summer 2026: K-Pop Demon Hunters: HUNTR/X Superfan Camp! (June 22–26, 2026, 9am–4pm), For Good (July 6–10, 2026, 9am–4pm), TBA! (July 13–17, 2026, 9am–4pm), Seize the Day! (July 20–24, 2026, 9am–4pm), Rotten to the Core (July 27–31, 2026, 9am–4pm), and Seussical KIDS, a one-week production camp (August 3–7, 2026, 9am–4pm) with auditions on August 1 in one 30-minute slot between 12:30pm and 2pm and performances on August 7 at 2pm and August 8 at 2pm. Middle school Seussical Jr production camps for grades 6–8 run for two weeks: Seussical Jr (#1) from June 8–12 and June 15–19, 2026, with auditions on May 30 in one 45-minute slot between 9am and noon and performances on June 20 at 2pm and 6pm and June 21 at 2pm; and Seussical Jr (#2) from August 10–14 and August 17–21, 2026, with auditions on August 1 in one 45-minute slot between 9am and noon and performances on August 22 at 2pm and 6pm and August 23 at 2pm. Registration for these Summer 2026 camps opened on November 12, 2025, and registering for production camps means campers are in the show, with video auditions allowed for specified camps.

Junior counselors at Ashland Productions Summer Camps are middle and high school students with limited camp experience who volunteer their time, and senior counselors are typically 16 or older, have experience with Ashland camps, and are paid staff members. Incoming 7th graders and outgoing seniors are eligible to apply to be summer camp counselors, and outgoing 5th grade students are allowed to register for either middle school or elementary camps. Every camp day ends with an awards ceremony honoring the hard work of every camper, and financial assistance for summer camps is available through a scholarship request form.

Ashland Productions lists Jack Lambert as Youth Programming Director and identifies the 2025–2026 season as Season 27. Ashland is described as a youth-centered, multigenerational theater company that fosters self-esteem and a sense of belonging, with a culture of welcoming acceptance and a process that creates performances enjoyed by the communities it serves. Ashland Productions is a 501(c)3 theatre arts organization with camps and educational opportunities available all year long, multi-generational feature shows, and peer-ages youth productions.

Ashland Productions serves the Eastern Metro and Greater St. Paul/Minneapolis area and runs the ACT! Program, which brings teaching artists to partner elementary schools to create a musical on the Ashland stage. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board Operating Support grant, supported by a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund. A parent testimonial states that Ashland’s commitment to educating and providing a positive experience for students is apparent in interactions with staff, students, and parents, and that Ashland provides kids with tools and power to fly and then watches them soar, setting a standard for introducing and teaching students about the joys of community theatre.
