The Reading Center

The Reading Center offers 1:1 Testing & Tutoring with dyslexia evaluations and 1:1 tutoring services. It also offers Reading Club, a weekly parent/child class for K-1st grade children and some 4-6 year olds, as well as Best of Basics, a summer program with small group classes and one-on-one options using the multi-sensory Orton-Gillingham Approach.

Programs

• 1:1 Testing & Tutoring — Year round; in person and online · Dyslexia evaluations and 1:1 tutoring services.
• Orton-Gillingham Training Institute — A graduate-level course for adults looking to learn the evidence-based approach to reading instruction.
• Reading Club — K-1st grade; also listed as for 4-6 year olds · Weekly parent/child class · Works on foundational reading skills in a fun environment.
• Best of Basics — All ages · Summer program · For kids with dyslexia or characteristics of dyslexia; small group classes and one-on-one options using the multi-sensory Orton-Gillingham Approach.

About the provider

The Reading Center has served educational needs related to dyslexia since 1951. Its mission is to serve those needs through testing, tutoring, teacher training, and promotion of the Science of Reading, with a vision of literacy for all. Community involvement includes Dyslexia Awareness Month Events, outreach events, and training for teachers and parents.
