Youth Martial Arts at The Cellar Gym includes youth martial arts classes with specific options such as Kids Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (Kids BJJ) and Kids Muay Thai. The program offers Pre-School Classes, Kids Classes, and Teen Classes, along with the Lil’ Ninjas pre-school program, pre-school martial arts for 4–5 years old, kids martial arts for 6–9 years old, and teen martial arts for 10–15 years old.

Youth Martial Arts at The Cellar Gym is part of a family-owned gym led by Ben and Katie Locken, third-generation owners of The Cellar Gym. The gym was established in 2002 and has expanded five times over more than 20 years. The mission of The Cellar Gym is to help members discover and realize their full potential, and it has been serving the Minneapolis/St Paul community since 2002. Ben is a professional MMA fighter with over 20 bouts, holds black belts in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai, coaches Team USA Kickboxing, and is a NASM-certified trainer. Katie is a 4th-degree karate black belt, holds a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, is an amateur Muay Thai fighter, and is a Kru under Ajarn Chai. The Cellar Gym describes itself as Minnesota’s Premier Martial Arts Training Facility and one of the premier martial arts gyms in the country, with youth classes that include Kids BJJ and Kids Muay Thai broken into three age groups, and students can start as young as 3 years old in the Lil’ Ninjas pre-school program. The Cellar Gym states that it prides itself in offering a fantastic member experience, that coaches care deeply about helping members reach their goals, and that whether someone is a first-day beginner or professional fighter, they will feel at home at The Cellar Gym.
