Cooks of Crocus Hill, which runs these programs, has been locally owned and operated for over 50 years, starting in 1973 as “Thrice” in St. Paul and becoming “Cooks of Crocus Hill” in 1988. Its mission states a belief that “life happens in the kitchen” and emphasizes sharing discoveries about food through cooking classes, events, a crop share program, and a curated retail assortment of culinary tools. The organization has added corporate events and crop shares/farm shares to its offerings and notes that Cooks of Crocus Hill is the largest kitchen retailer in the Midwest.

Community involvement includes a collaboration with CommonGround Minnesota in the class “Farm-Hers in the Kitchen” and a partnership with Bellecour Bakery in North Loop starting in 2020, followed by Bellecour Bakery at Cooks opening in St. Paul in 2021. One testimonial from Maurice at 3M describes classes as having a great location with fantastic, helpful, and patient staff. Another testimonial from Heather S states that a class was the best money she had spent in a long time and notes that the chef made the complicated simple, and a testimonial from Troy highlights what he calls amazing customer service.
