Imagine Art Youth Summer Camp is part of White Bear Center for the Arts, which also offers free gallery exhibitions for the community, including around a dozen exhibitions each year in spaces such as the Ford Family Gallery. The center includes an outdoor campus and an expanded clay wing. The organization’s mission is to “ENRICH LIVES by Celebrating Art, NOURISH IMAGINATION by Inspiring Creativity, BUILD UNDERSTANDING by Connecting People.” The roots of the present-day art center go back to the 1930s and 40s, when Edna Imm brought together artists for classes, later creating the White Bear Arts Council in 1968 with artists including Polly Shank, Nels Femrite, and Frank Zeller; the center moved to its current home in 2013 and reopened to the public after renovation and an addition in 2021. The leadership team includes Kim Ford, past WBCA Board Member, and Daniel Hendricksen, “White Bear Center.” White Bear Center for the Arts states that it believes diversity, inclusion, and equity are essential to its mission and that it supports long-term relationships based on respect for each individual’s creative, social, and cultural spirit.

Parents and community members describe WBCA as offering a wide range of class formats in a “beautiful facility” (Mary Claire R.), “a wonderful community of talented artists” and “an excellent place to interact with fellow artists” (Wendy S.), “a warm, welcoming art community” with “a wide variety of events and classes for all artistic levels” (Lisa S.), and a place where they are “exposed to many types of art” and “programs that are offered encompass many areas of creativity and appreciation for the arts” (John W.).
