About

The Morrie Miller Youth Tackle Football League offers youth tackle football with a traditional Saturday morning league format. The program includes competitive games and a JV game schedule that complements the Saturday games and offers playing opportunities for beginners.

• Schedule: The league begins in August and ends in mid October.

The Morrie Miller Youth Tackle Football League began in 1998. In 2008, there were eight teams in the league, including teams from the Winona area, the Lewiston-Altura area, and Houston. Beginning in 2016, the league administration transferred to the Winona Family YMCA and operates under the guidance and with the support of the Morrie Miller Athletic Foundation. The league’s mission is to provide instruction for youth to learn fundamental skills and participate in competitive games emphasizing safety and sportsmanship. The program is described as a good fit for youngsters who want to learn how to play, brush up on the rules, practice skills, participate on a team, and have fun. Leadership for the league includes Pat Bowlin of Cotter Schools and Stephen Kosidowski.
