Dance Camps and Summer Intensives are weeklong morning programs for recreational dancers and young Gallery Ballet & Tap dancers, with gluten free snacks provided. Afternoon intensives offer high octane training and skill building for experienced dancers and those wanting more challenges, including learning some of the world’s favorite ballet variations. Summer Session II welcomes both new students and current Gallery Ballet & Tap students, with classes such as Ballet I–VIII, Creative Ballet, Pre-ballet, Irish I, Irish II, and Irish Troupe. Classes with four or fewer students are cancelled or combined with another class, and parents are invited to observe the first class of each month, while remaining classes are held with only the teacher and assistant. Ballet and tap classes for younger dancers include a teaching assistant for each teacher, and adult students have options to perform or take classes for pleasure.

The studio features state-of-the-art dance floors, two walls of full-length mirrors, plentiful adjustable portable barres, a Marley floor with a certain amount of controlled slip similar to surfaces used by the Oregon Ballet Theater, Pacific Northwest Ballet, and Riverdance, and studio mats used for Pilates, gentle stretching, and as a comfortable learning tool for younger dancers. The Boys Movement Class meets on Mondays at 5:00pm for dancers 6 years and up.

The program is led by Director Edwina Castle. Teaching staff are described as highly qualified dance teachers who have excelled in dance, have been educated in the realm of dance, and have experience in both teaching and dancing. Instruction is described as correct and up-to-date, with staff seeking ongoing professional training from current U.S. and international coaches, and professional dance instructors having extensive training and expertise. Staff are familiar with Edwina Castle’s syllabus, which provides a seamless and continuous stage of learning through all ballet and tap levels. The stated mission notes that learning to dance gives the greatest freedom of all and that the benefits of dance training are carried throughout life, including building strength, character, self-discipline, confidence, balance, flexibility, and grace, and that the staff nurtures the very best a student is capable of whether a career in dance is planned or not, while providing positive attention, encouragement, an optimal learning environment, and a foundation on which to build and develop a joy for dance.
