Oregon Irish Dance Academy is a Portland-based, fully non-competitive and recreational Irish dancing program for kids that offers a structured Irish dance curriculum with step by step guidance in a safe and uplifting environment with encouraging teachers and supportive classmates. The program states that its goal is to build self-esteem and uplift students through the art and tradition of Irish dancing in a fully recreational format, and it describes its approach as teaching in a positive way, building self-esteem and confidence, helping students feel successful, setting attainable goals, providing level- and age-appropriate challenges, and promoting a positive learning mindset. The program states that all races, genders, religions, cultures, ethnicities, nationalities, sexual orientations, backgrounds, and abilities are welcome, and that it is a safe place for all to learn and enjoy Irish dancing. Recitals and parades, including local St. Patrick's Day parades and end-of-season recitals, are optional, low-pressure, and described as fun and memorable.

Oregon Irish Dance Academy was founded in 2017 by Portland-born-and-raised sisters Christina and Victoria White. Christina passed the TCRG exam offered by An Coimisiún Le Rincí Gaelacha (CLRG) in 2020, earning “Honors” in the dancing section and a perfect score on the music section, after working over 3 years to complete the 12 prerequisite Grade Exams that qualified her to take the TCRG exam. Christina and Victoria have spent years working with kids of all ages in multiple activities and describe themselves as extremely passionate about providing a safe and incredibly fun summer camp. Christina and Victoria are background checked by The Children's Gym, and Oregon Irish Dance Academy also runs background checks for all additional staff members including camp coaches, workshop teachers, and substitute teachers.

The program describes itself as fully non-competitive and curriculum-based, offering non-competitive Irish dancing for kids ages 5 to teen, and states that it is not connected to any larger Irish dancing organization and operates independently from competitive organizations. Camps are specially designed just for ages 5–10 and prioritize small groups, aiming for a coach-to-camper ratio of 1 coach to every 8 campers. Campers collect camp beads of many different types, including hearts, stars, flowers, and extra special kinds. The Nonfire Bonfire includes traditional Irish songs, funny camp tunes, and special campfire stories, and the Coloring Cafe features “The Chef” and a “Daily Special.” Classes and camps use props and activities such as custom sticker charts, mirror chalk markers, a piggy bank with dance coins, counter items, and parachute time. No dance shoes are needed for camp, and campers may dance in socks or wear ballet or jazz shoes if they have them, while current Oregon Irish Dance Academy students are asked to wear their dance shoes. Campers must enroll ahead of time and provide names of those approved to pick up their camper, and a matching photo ID to the name is required at check-out. New beginners ages 5 to 11 can access a free trial class plus 50% off the first month of tuition and no registration fee, and new beginners are also offered a free trial class anytime.

Christina and Victoria are active members of and/or donors to local organizations that promote and support Irish dance, music, language, and culture, including the All-Ireland Cultural Society of Oregon, Irish Network Portland, CCE Oregon (Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann), the Céilí of the Valley Society, and the Celtic Heritage Alliance. Each year, Oregon Irish Dance Academy dancers, families, and friends have the opportunity to march and dance in local St. Patrick's Day parades.

Parent testimonials describe Christina and Victoria as combining talent, discipline, and skill in teaching with “sunny sweetness,” and note that campers talk at length about camp stories such as “the parrot story.” Parents describe Irish Dance Camp as “phenomenal,” say it “goes above and beyond to make camp fun,” and mention that their children always want to go back. One parent highlights that camp includes beads, “The Chef,” “ubby dubby,” and crafts, and calls the crafts “the most awesome crafts.” Another parent reports that a child’s favorite part of Irish dance camp is the crafts and refers to “Miss Christina” as “the craft queen.”
