• Price: Reading Results has launched a free virtual tutoring program to provide families with literacy support outside of the school day.

Reading Results’ mission is to partner with schools to support students from systemically excluded communities in becoming successful readers, based on the belief that literacy is a basic human right. The organization works to increase access and break down barriers through its individualized, culturally-responsive reading intervention program and uses an equity lens in its work with struggling learners. Reading Results partners with schools serving low-income students, and OnPoint Community Credit Union partners with Reading Results.

Principals, students, parents, and community partners have shared feedback about Reading Results. School leaders from Portland Public Schools and other local schools describe Reading Results as having a positive impact on student reading data and note that students in Reading Results experience reading gains at a higher rate than students who are not in the program. Students in Reading Results report that the program is important to them because it helps them gain confidence with reading and writing skills and that teachers enjoy teaching and watching them grow as readers. A parent describes being thrilled with the confidence their child has gained while participating in Reading Results and notes a fundamental change in how their child approaches reading. A community partner from OnPoint Community Credit Union states that Reading Results believes all children have the right to read and succeed and values the organization’s commitment to students who are low income and students of color.
