Small Wonders School offers preschool programs in Reggio-inspired environments that include an atelier and multiple classrooms. The program uses monthly thematic units that follow child-directed themes, with topics such as woodland animals, mysteries, master chef, bread, rockets, rainforests, car engines, plants, and fairy tales. Planning for these themes accounts for each of the Multiple Intelligences.

Small Wonders School provides an enriching preschool experience in a full day childcare format. The program’s stated goal is to offer a safe and nurturing environment where children can mature on their own while being challenged to explore new concepts and ideas. Children are encouraged to participate at their own pace and level without competition or comparison, through a blend of freeplay and meaningful projects that include both directed and non-directed activities. Small Wonders serves the NE Portland community with two locations.
