Fernbrook Farms Summer Camps includes activities such as visiting the Pine Barrens, exploring the New Jersey coastline, and learning about the abundance of resources in seasonal forests. Campers also paddle local waterways and explore the pond, forest, meadow, and creek. Pollywogs camp is described as an introduction to summer camp at Fernbrook Farms.
• Ages: 3–14 years old
• Schedule: Pollywogs camp offers full-day (8:30–4) or half-day (8:30–12) sessions with options for 2, 3, or 5 days per week
Young Stewards Summer Camp is guided by experienced and well-qualified staff members, and Junior Fiddlehead Summer Camp has four experienced staff guiding the children. Fernbrook Farms Summer Camps are part of a multifaceted 230-acre preserved farmland that is shared with many and used to educate both young and old about food, the beauty of nature, and sustainable farming practices. The education center engages several thousand children each year as they experience nature and learn about the sources of their food, with a focus across the farm on the interconnectedness of food, education, and agriculture. Over 500 families participate in the farm’s CSA, receiving weekly shares of vegetables and having the option to visit farm animals and walk forest trails during their visits.
