Westfield Area YMCA Youth Programs include activities such as Summer Day Camps, youth sports classes and leagues, basketball clinics, dance classes, taekwondo, and teen programs. The programs also offer youth and adult swim lessons, open family and lap swim, water exercise classes, lifeguard training courses, and access to an indoor pool, gymnasium, racquetball, sauna, steam room, fitness center, and strength and cardio equipment. Early learning options include care for infants and toddlers, preschool in full- and half-day formats, full-day kindergarten, kindergarten wraparound, a gross motor skills room, and nine early learning classrooms, along with before and after care and Kids Club (child watch).

• Schedule: Summer 2026 Session runs June 28–August 22, with priority registration for family members beginning Thursday, June 11 at 9am and registration for program and non-members beginning Monday, June 15 at 9am.

The Westfield Area YMCA Youth Programs also include group fitness classes, personal training, an outdoor playground and playground, multipurpose space, birthday parties, and special/adaptive needs programs. The organization offers Basic Life Support (BLS) and First Aid Training and community health programs. Summer hours beginning Sunday, June 28 are Monday–Thursday 5:00am–10:00pm, Friday 5:00am–8:00pm, Saturday 6:00am–6:00pm, and Sunday 7:00am–3:00pm. Special events and drives include a Cranford YMCA Bathing Suit Drive from May 26, 2026, 5am through August 22, 2026, 4pm; Puppy Yoga with Home for Good Dogs Rescue on July 12, 2026, from 2–3pm; and a Cranford YMCA Vitalant Blood Drive on July 16, 2026, from 9am–12pm.

Financial assistance is available for YMCA programs and memberships to individuals and families with a bona fide financial hardship who live or work in Westfield, Cranford, Garwood, or Mountainside, New Jersey. The Westfield Area YMCA is a nonprofit human service organization and a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit social services organization dedicated to youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Its mission is to develop the full potential of every individual and family in the communities it serves through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.

The Westfield Area YMCA reports that it has met the changing needs of its community for over 100 years and has been strengthening the communities of Cranford, Garwood, Mountainside, and Westfield since 1923. It is a member agency of the Westfield United Fund. Items collected in the Cranford YMCA Bathing Suit Drive are distributed through member agencies and social services to those in need, and donating blood at the Cranford YMCA Vitalant Blood Drive is described by the organization as one of the easiest ways to give back to the community. Proceeds from the 21st Annual Golf Classic at Echo Lake Country Club benefit the Strong Kids+ Annual Support Campaign.
