JCTC-KIDS features puppetry and marionette shows presented by Puppetworks. Puppetworks performs in a specially constructed Puppet Theater at Merseles Studios as part of the JCTC-KIDS program.

• Schedule: Puppetworks presents shows every Sunday, with additional special group shows available for schools and other organizations.

Jersey City Theater Center, Inc. (JCTC) was founded in 2006 and launched its children’s division, JCTC-KIDS, in 2014. JCTC-KIDS was launched with Puppetworks, an award-winning puppetry theater company committed to preserving the tradition and art of the marionette. JCTC’s mission is to inspire conversations about the issues of our time through the arts and to address and explore important and socially relevant topics through performing and visual arts. JCTC provides youth arts education, artist support, and community outreach.

Olga Levina is the co-founder of JCTC and serves as Executive Producer. She graduated from Minsk School of the Performing Arts; studied acting with V. Bondarenko of Gorky’s Russian Theatre in Minsk and Yuri Lutinsky; and studied acting and directing with Jorge Cacheiro (MFA in Theatre, MSU). She holds a BFA in Acting from Montclair University and attended the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute, Sally Jonson Studio, and the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance in New York City. Olga Levina received the Belarusian Philharmonic Award for the most creative choreography for “Woman’s Nature” in 1988.

JCTC is a non-profit organization exempt from federal tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Merseles Studios, where Puppetworks performs, includes a 1,500-square-foot flexible-performance space and Black Box Theater, an art gallery, and 10 private art studios.
