Jersey City Soccer Association (JCSA) was established in 1978 and has been organizing training, matches, leagues, and tournaments for over 45 years. JCSA operates two leagues: a co-ed league for ages 4 to 15 and a girls-only league for ages 6 to 15, and it has youth travel teams from U8 through U16. The summer camp is for boys and girls ages 5 to 13, and recreational registration covers the cost of the entire Fall–Spring year. JCSA is volunteer run by 13 board members, and all members of the association are non-compensated volunteers.

US Soccer licensed and USSF licensed referees conduct and officiate the matches. The organization employs a club-neutral training organization, SEFT (School of Elite Football Training), to provide training through 13 trainers and a paid sporting director, and each recreational team practices at least once a week with professional SEFT trainers. The Jersey City Soccer Association is a nonprofit whose stated mission is to provide affordable soccer programs in Jersey City regardless of race, color, religion, creed, national origin, ancestry, gender, or sexual orientation, and to teach players about good sportsmanship, proper technique, physical fitness, and respect for themselves, their opponents, and the game. JCSA states that it measures success in smiles and uses the motto to play hard, fair, and fun and have fun.

JCSA works closely with the Jersey City Department of Recreation, the Jersey City Board of Education, Hudson County Parks, and other public organizations to provide facilities and equipment. Jersey City Soccer Association is proud to work with local businesses that support its teams, and sponsorship support helps the organization purchase equipment and uniforms and provide numerous scholarships to deserving players. JCSA is committed to financial aid, fulfilling requests that show a free or reduced lunch at public school, and in 2023, 6% of the kids are fully subsidized. Through sponsorships, SEFT, and a volunteer approach, JCSA states it is able to offer the least expensive and high quality soccer program in the area.
