Since 1873, the Madison Area YMCA has stated that it has nurtured the potential of every youth and teen, improved the community’s health and well-being, and provided opportunities to give back and support neighbors, and it notes that it has been serving for 150 years since 1873. Its mission statement says that it provides quality programs and services for physical and emotional well-being and is guided by the core values of caring, honesty, responsibility, and respect, aspiring to be the center of a healthy community that includes and supports everyone. The organization lists a leadership and program team that includes roles such as President & Chief Executive Officer, Senior Vice Presidents, program directors for aquatics, fitness and healthy living, gymnastics, Y Ninja Gym, School of Performing Arts, sports, camp, teen and family, Kids Central, and staff for facilities, finance, human resources, childcare, food services, counseling, and coalition work. The Madison Area YMCA reports that it has earned Praesidium Accreditation, described as the highest honor in abuse prevention practices.

In partnership with Chatham Township, the Madison Area YMCA brings aquatic programs and seasonal activities to The Colony Pool Club and states that this partnership supports the Colony Pool Club community tradition. The YMCA identifies itself as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit social services organization dedicated to Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility. The organization also notes that Project Community Pride is a Youth & Teen Counseling and Support Program offering Telehealth appointments, and that the Madison Chatham Coalition is located at the same Kings Road address as the Family Center. The Madison Area YMCA describes a strict no-phone policy in all locker rooms and bathrooms throughout the facility, a brand new state-of-the-art fitness center with new cardio equipment, the Sprint 8 system, the EGYM circuit, and new strength and resistance training equipment, and Kids Central as an indoor modular playground with features such as a cargo bridge, trolley glide, gym ring challenge, monkey bars, and a dedicated toddler area with wall-mounted games and stationary sit-on cars/animals. It also notes that IGNITE Group Training offers clients the enthusiasm and encouragement of a group environment while still providing personalized attention and fitness routines tailored to their specific needs, and that its free app functions as a digital membership card, can link family membership cards, check classes and schedules, connect to cardio equipment, engage in Fitness Challenges, redeem rewards points, check personal training workouts, and track activity.
