Since 1972, a group of dedicated volunteers has worked through New Providence Soccer Club to promote the game of soccer for both girls and boys of New Providence, and over the past 45+ years the club has been the home of soccer in the community. The club states that it is dedicated to the promotion and organization of youth soccer at both the recreational and competitive level, and that it is committed to the development of its players and coaches to allow them to reach their fullest potential and to instill sportsmanship and fellowship while developing a community spirit among its members. The club notes that it sponsors teams in various leagues so players can play against competition suited to their abilities, whether pure recreation or high-level Club Flighting teams, and that it begins its offerings in Kindergarten and continues through high school. The club describes its philosophy as accommodating players of all skill levels and abilities, and states that it offers all players who desire to play at a competitive level an opportunity to learn the necessary skills, and that it encourages teams to be competitive but not at the expense of player development.

Following the 2015 high school soccer season, Dave Snyder was recognized by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America as the National Assistant Coach of the Year for the East Region, and in 2018 he was inducted into the Seton Hall Prep Hall of Fame for his impact on the program and the passion he exudes for it. The club states that Dave has adapted the youth development program in New Providence to the US Youth Soccer and United Soccer Coaches player development standards, and that he continues to develop the coaching acumen of parent coaches in NPSC by running coaching clinics and sharing current soccer coaching methods. The club also notes that, regardless of the age of the players he coaches, Dave is dedicated to creating an environment in which players can learn and experiment in a risk-free, enjoyable setting.

New Providence Soccer Club highlights that it is celebrating 50 years. As part of its community involvement, the club runs an annual NPSC Cares day, which includes NPSC clinics, games with the NPHS players, and a chance for participants to give back to the community.
