VTC Kids Day Camp focuses on musical theater basics, including basic musical theater techniques. Campers work on developing character, emotion, and storytelling skills through cooperative activities.
• Ages: 8–13 years old
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM, in a 4-week session
• Price: Tuition: $1,600
VTC Kids Day Camp offers professional guidance from experienced theater instructors. VTC is led by founding Producing Artistic Director Janeece Freeman Clark. The camp is grounded in DREAM values: Diversity, Reciprocity, Education, Activism, and Mentorship. The program’s mission is challenging social and cultural narratives through professional theater dedicated to DREAM: Diversity, Reciprocity, Education, Activism, and Mentorship. VTC was founded in 2015 and challenges conventional social and cultural narratives through theater dedicated to DREAM: Diversity, Reciprocity, Education, Activism, and Mentorship. VTC has received recognition including the Michael Jordan Community Grant, an NJSCA Citation of Excellence for the Dream VTC program, the Hyacinth Aids Foundation Social Justice Award, multiple Broadway World NJ Awards, Best Scenic Design of a Play or Musical (Eric Marchetta–Spring Awakening), inclusion on the New Jersey on Stage Top 15 list in 2022 and 2023, the Jessica Sporn NJTA Curtain Call, the Melissa McHugh NJTA Curtain Call, a Congressional Commendation from US Representative Donald Payne Jr, and Essex County and Montclair Township declaring “Montclair Theater Day” in honor of the inaugural Montclair Theater Festival. Janeece Freeman Clark has been honored with the University of Michigan School of Music and Dance Christopher Kendall Alumni Award, recognition as a 2022 Tony Nominee for Excellence in Education, and being named one of 26 Women To Watch In 2026 by The Montclair Girl. VTC’s community involvement includes partnering with local restaurants, civic groups, and the Business Improvement District, as well as working with the Montclair African American Heritage Foundation, Montclair Neighborhood Development Corporation, and Our Montclair.
