Mad Science was founded in 1985 in Montreal, Canada and is described as a global enrichment company with over 150 locations in over 20 countries and over 30 years in business. Mad Science of West New Jersey is described as a leading science enrichment provider. Its mission is to inspire children through science, sparking lifelong imagination and curiosity. All workshops are curriculum STEM related, correlated to state standards, and complement concepts taught in class, with curriculum-correlated, hands-on preschool and elementary-level workshops. Summer camps are capped in size to maintain a personal experience for each camper, and for virtual summer camps, materials are delivered straight to participants.

One parent shared that their son has participated in many sports camps but said science camp is his favorite, and that he comes home eager to show what he learned and complete the take-home activity with the family, describing it as an hour well spent every week. Another parent said their son loves the Mad Science camp, talks about what he did and how everything was made each day, and wants to return the next year. A third parent reported that their son attended a summer camp, came home excited to talk about physics and propulsion, and that the camp nurtured his love of science and showed him fun ways to share it with friends.
