About

Watershed Nature Camp includes activities such as exploring under logs, catching butterflies, and exploring watery worlds. Campers spend most of their time exploring a 950-acre Watershed Reserve of fields, forests, trails, ponds, and streams. The program also includes access to exhibits and animal ambassadors inside the nature center, time at Wargo Pond to examine wildlife, and practice with age-appropriate paddling skills, along with hikes and games where counselors engage with campers.

The Watershed Institute is a non-profit dedicated to keeping New Jersey’s water clean, safe, and healthy. The Watershed Institute has been working to keep water clean, safe, and healthy for 77 years and has been honored with the NJDEP Our Water’s Worth It Award. Approximately 25% of campers receive scholarships through partner organizations serving historically under-resourced communities. Parent feedback about Watershed Nature Camp includes comments such as “Our kids had a wonderful time at camp this summer,” “Watershed camp was my daughter’s favorite camp of the summer,” and “If there’s a platform where your camp is usually rated, I would rate the experience we had this summer there 5 out of 5 stars.”
