Princeton Ballet School

Princeton Ballet School offers Pre-Ballet and Foundation levels for children beginning at age 2.5 through age 7. It also offers Lower School Levels 1-3 for ages 8-12, Upper School Levels 4-8, Trainee Program, Elective Classes in contemporary, lyrical, flamenco, and tap, Privates & Coaching, Open Classes for ages 13 to adult, Performance Opportunities, Health, Wellness & Adaptive Classes, Summer Programs, and Preschool Residency Programs.

Programs

• Children’s Division — Beginning at age 2.5, up to age 7 · Includes Pre-Ballet and Foundation levels.
• Elementary Division — Ages 8-12 · Lower School Levels 1-3.
• Upper School — Upper School Levels 4-8; prepares students for collegiate or professional-level study.
• Trainee Program — A two-year bridge between student training and a professional career.
• Elective Classes — Includes contemporary, lyrical, flamenco, and tap.
• Privates & Coaching — Personalized coaching for Ballet Competitions or personal growth.
• Open Classes — Ages 13 to adult · Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced Open Classes available; no prior dance experience required.
• Performance Opportunities — Students in Foundation A through Level 8 are eligible to participate in productions throughout the year.
• Health, Wellness & Adaptive Classes — Providing dance experiences for people with differing abilities.
• Summer Programs — Summer programs for advanced students; children’s summer classes and camps are also available.
• Preschool Residency Programs — Registration for Residency Programs at Parker and Discovery Years Learning Center only.

About the provider

Princeton Ballet School was founded in 1954. It is the official school of American Repertory Ballet and was founded by Audrée Estey. The school is described as one of the nation’s finest non-profit dance schools and has more than 20 specialized faculty members. Many faculty members have graduate degrees in dance education and major teaching awards.

Registration for the 2026-2027 School Year is now open. Enrollment and class schedules are managed through the online Parent Portal. A credit card is required during registration but will only be charged after enrolling in classes. Free trial or placement class available by email or phone. The Trainee Program is certified by the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) to enroll nonimmigrant students on F-1 visas. Open Classes are available for ages 13 to 103, with no prior dance experience required and no commitment.
