YWCA Princeton is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. It works to bring out the individual strengths of women and youth and to foster resiliency and self-sufficiency, centering on providing the skills and confidence needed to succeed. YWCA Princeton is the oldest and largest women’s movement in its community, providing services for women and their families. Over the past 103 years, its programs have evolved, including milestones such as receiving its charter from the national YWCA in 1922, establishing the Witherspoon Branch in 1925, incorporating that branch in 1948, and beginning the Nursery School in 1995. YWCA Princeton has an Advocacy Library with over 100 books related to its mission available to be borrowed by the public and produces an advocacy podcast titled “Y Would I...”.

YWCA Princeton provides direct services, empowerment programming, and advocacy to support marginalized individuals and families, especially women and girls of color, while working to challenge structural barriers to equity. Areas of focus include maternal wellness, accessible childcare, equitable healthcare, food insecurity, reproductive rights, and LGBTQ+ rights. Volunteers are recognized as essential collaborative partners in delivering mission-driven programs and services throughout Mercer County and beyond. In its broader programs, 37% of childcare students are learning English as a Second Language, 81 new members were welcomed to the Breast Cancer Resource Center in 2022, 100% of ESL students enrolled in the citizenship course passed their naturalization exam, and the cost of the YW Strive digital literacy and workforce development program is $0.

The organization’s leadership includes Rose Wong (Chief Executive Officer), Tricia Daley (Chief Financial Officer), Tara O'Shea (Chief Operating Officer), and Courtney Matlock (Chief Advancement Officer), among others in executive, program, and board roles.
